+will you help me pick out my clothes, do my makeup and style me?
when it comes to portraits and headshots, i want you to look like you. that means that most of my attention is focused on creating a warm environment that allows you to be yourself and, obviously, capturing you in that element. i’m happy to give pointers and encourage you to bring in a stylist or trusted friend to work with you in creating a visual representation that you're happy with.

+Do you ever hire a second shooter for weddings and is there an additional cost?
Yes and yes. The cost will depend on the specifics of your wedding. During our initial consultation, we can work out exactly what the second shooter will be doing and how long they will be assisting me.

+How many photos do you deliver?
Every session is different and sometimes there are more moving parts than others. Portrait sessions typically see 50-100 images in their galleries. Weddings are a lot (lotlotlot) more. I never trash a good photo and I'm always thoughtful when picking out the best of the crop. What you receive when all is said and done is a collection that is complete and one that i'm proud of.

+I HAVE BUDGET CONCERNS!
I hear you. While my rates reflect my experience level and are priced similarly to that of my colleagues, it remains important to me to provide affordable services in a world that reinforces systemic inequality and restricted access to luxury services (among so many other things). I provide reduced rate services for marginalized individuals and those in need. I also offer my services as a form of mutual aid. Please reach out.

+Do you do retouching?
Have you heard the old folk tale, "the time the photographer airbrushed out the clients favorite freckle"? Probably not, but you get the gist. We have spots and freckles and imperfections and perfections. We also live in a society that projects a very specific kind of beauty standard. My goal is to respect and uplift you and your body. Standard retouching involves adjusting color, tone, and contrast, and minor spot removal (we all have had zits, I get it). That being said, I am happy to offer additional or extensive retouching for an added fee with the exception of body modifications.

+When do I pay you?
Headshots are paid in advance. for all other sessions, A non-refundable retainer of 25% is required upon booking. The remaining balance must be received two weeks prior to your wedding day, or day-of for non-weddings. i’m open to payment plans and negotiation of all kinds— just ask!

+How do you deliver your photos?
I give clients a password protected online gallery complete with all of the selected and edited photographs which can be downloaded and shared with family and friends. You can also order prints & books through this site.

+Do you use a watermark?
No.

+Do you travel outside of Minnesota or New York City?
Yes! And I love to. I charge $.50/mile after the first 10 miles (if drivable), or airfare reimbursement and require that accommodation costs to be covered.

+Do I get copies of all original images, or RAW files?
Nope! To me, giving original files to clients is like handing in the rough draft to a professor. Part of the photographic process is selecting the best images of the bunch, making them look extra pretty, and presenting you with a cohesive and finished package that represents my best work.

Zoe’s work is unique because of who she is... She makes everyone feel happy and at ease, and intuitively slips between interacting with her subjects and going unnoticed, teasing out a joyful moment or letting a moment play out. These are decisions that seem so natural to her, and they are at the heart of her beautiful work.
