Families
Maia turns three
The best thing about being a family photographer is the relationship you end up building with each kid. Typically clients hire me one or two times a year which provides little glimpses into the growing lives of these families. I have been photographing the Barbagallo's for the past three years, ever since Maia, their youngest was a baby. It has been such a joy to watch the three girls grow into standing, laughing, and, on occasion, eye-rolling kids. Maia turned 3 at the beginning of the month and I came to their house to spend an hour twirling, biking, and eating M&M's with some of my favorite girls in Minneapolis. here are some photos from our morning
Greenlee family III
I've been photographing this family since 2012 when Adrienne and Jon got married. As the years have gone by I have had the pleasure of watching their family grow. Possibly my favorite kiddo to shoot, Knut is always contemplative and energetic-- a total wild one. It was so exciting meeting the newest addition, Ila, and to see Knut interact with his sister. Here are some of my favorite shots from our session. I hope you can feel the laughter that didn't stop once during my time with them.
Chuck, Kollin & Piper
It's really fun walking into a strangers house and watching how they operate as a cohesive family unit. I love approaching a family session with a no holds barred attitude. I was so lucky to meet Kollin and Chuck who welcomed me in without any expectations except to try and capture the essence of their family dynamic. There is a moment with any family session where you really click with the kid(s) but it usually takes a bit of warm-up time. Piper and I clicked immediately. This kid is something special. Here's a recap of my amazing day with a really cool family.
